"During more than 4 decades in education, I experienced first-hand the challenges faced by teachers, support staff, and school leaders. Increasing workloads, growing responsibilities, Ofsted, and the increasing demands of society made building cultures of staff wellbeing essential, not just a nice-to-have.

"From the age of 14 and during my teaching career of 36 years, I suffered from episodes of depression. In 2008, during a 3-month stay in hospital, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type 2. Fortunately, after trialling a combination of medication, I found one that worked and this medication has become part of my daily life.

"I have been working with businesses since 2011. I created We Work Well to provide practical, evidence-informed support that goes beyond one-off initiatives. We Work Well is designed to help businesses build healthier workplaces where staff feel valued, supported, and equipped to thrive.

"Today, We Work Well partners with businesses to deliver accredited First Aid for Mental Health training, staff wellbeing reviews, leadership support, and resources that promote lasting wellbeing cultural change."
